Let me start with a brief introduction. I currently have the pleasure of teaching adult learners at LeMoyne Owen College. Presently, I am responsible for instruction, curriculum development, implementation, and assessment of student learning in the Division of Business and Economic Development.
In addition, I taught Business Executives at the Small Business Administration, Small Business Development Centers, and Service Corp of Retire Executive (SCORE) here in Memphis TN. I served on a Micro Loan Committee working with banks and lenders as a Management Consultant. I understand what lenders are looking for from businesses to secure loans. I would like to use my familiarity of these concepts to further develop my students’ understanding of establishing fiscally sound businesses.
My research interest includes African American Entrepreneurship. More specifically, barriers for entry for African American Entrepreneurs there impact in the local economy and how to make them sustainable.
My teaching experience does not just derive from theory based instruction but within practical application. I have personally founded several businesses including a Black internet TV network whose mission is to promote Black economic empowerment. I am building a global internet media company with the largest selection of Black Economic Empowerment Videos.
I earned a Doctorate of Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship from Jones International University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Bowie State University. More about my Teaching Philosophy
